Seaweed soup is a dish that is traditionally consumed on someone birthdays or is given to mothers who have just given birth to a baby. Seaweed is nutritious, low calories and full of minerals food and this makes the miyeok-guk an healthy dish. Let’s prepare the seaweed soup together!
Ingredients
- 20 grams dried brown seaweed
- 100 grams beef
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp clear soy sauce
- 1.2 liters of water (6 cups)
Instruction
- Soak the dried seaweed in cold water for 30 minutes. Squeeze the water out and cut in 4-5 cm strips
- Slice the beef in 3 cm square and season with half tbsp of soy sauce, pepper and garlic
- Heat the sesame oil in a pot and stir-fry the beef and garlic on medium heat. Add seaweed and keep cooking for 3 min
- Add water to the pot and bring to boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 20 minutes
- Add the rest of the soy sauce and salt to taste
